Why Lisbon
Cheap for Western Europe, warm nine months a year, and the nights run very late.
The short version of what it is good for: nightlife, food & wine, charm & culture. If none of those is what the group wants, the honest answer is to pick somewhere else — a city cannot be talked into a vibe it does not have.
Things to do
Pastel de nata and tile-painting workshop.
Sunset sailing on the Tagus.
Bairro Alto bar crawl.
Time Out Market grazing dinner.
Day trip to Sintra’s palaces.
Surf lesson at Costa da Caparica.
Where to eat
Time Out Market when nobody can agree
A proper tasca in Alfama
Natas at Belém, warm, standing up
Where to stay
Príncipe Real for calm and good food
Bairro Alto if you want the noise
Cais do Sodré to be between both
One good Saturday
Tile workshop in the morning, Tagus sunset sail, dinner at ten, Bairro Alto until it stops.
That is one anchored plan, not a schedule. Everything either side of it should be left open.
What it costs
$330–$550 per person for three nights, before travel.
That covers accommodation, food, drink and one or two paid activities. It does not cover getting there, which is the number that varies most and the one people forget to say out loud.
Split the fixed costs — the house, the one big booking — before anyone arrives. Splitting on the last morning is how group trips end badly.
When to go
Best months: Mar–Jun, Sep–Oct.
Outside those, expect either weather that changes the plan or prices that change the guest list. Neither is fatal, but both are worth knowing before you commit a date.
Before you book anything
We list these as suggestions, not as bookings, and we do not vet operators. Look up whoever actually runs an activity, read their own reviews rather than an aggregator's, and treat any booking that changes its location by text message as a reason to walk away.
